Implications of artificial intelligence.

These days machine learning and artificial intelligence are the technology du jour. There is a lot of hype and a lot of debate over the implications of AI. On one side, AI is the panecia that will save humanity and on the other AI is the technology that will destroy us. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

Recently there was a series of three videos on the Computerphile YouTube channel which discuss GPT-2, a new technique which generates text which is hard to distinguish from text generated by a human.

The first two videos discuss the technology and the third discusses the social impacts. Highly recommended.
